We all know how important exercise is for our physical and mental health.


In an effort to reduce the common barriers of: cost, timing, lock in contracts and fear of gyms; there are a number of free programs run through the suburbs of the Gold Coast. 

So, grab a friend and give some of these a go.

Tai Chi

Improve your mind and body connection through breath control and movement. A qualified instructor guides you through a series of movements to help promote harmony and improve mobility and mental awareness. Tai Chi is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Coombabah Lake Reserve

Where: Raintree Glen; Coombabah

When: Open 24/7

Activities: Cycling and walking, bird watching

Ability: Any fitness - mostly flat with gravel paths and boardwalks the whole way

Summer Camp Kids

Hiking in Springbrook

Where: Springbrook National Park

When: Open 24/7

Cost: Free

Activities: Hiking, glow worms

Ability: Any fitness. There are 9 tracks with distances ranging from 700m to 20km. The shorter walks are easily accessible for wheelchairs
