All our Physiotherapists at Sports and Orthopaedic Physio have over a decade of experience working in an array of settings including In Sport Teams and productions, onsite vocational support and of course in a private and orthopaedic setting.  This alongside further Post Graduate Qualifications means you are guaranteed expert care.

Matt

Matt graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Otago in New Zealand one of the very first specialised Physiotherapy Schools in the World. He then moved to Wellington on receiving a scholarship to become a Credentialed Therapist in the renowned McKenzie Method.

Following four years providing onsite Physiotherapy services to the New Zealand Defence Force, Matt also became the Team Physiotherapist for the Cook Islands International Football Team at the Pacific Games 2011 and provided support for the Wellington Phoenix Football Club frequently traveling with the A league’s reserve team.

In need of a change and warmer weather Matt then moved to the Gold Coast in 2012 and specialised further completing Post Graduate studies through the Auckland University of Technology in Rehabilitation Physiotherapy.

With now well over 15 years’ experience Matt is well equipped to provide expert care and his special interests include spinal and sporting injuries, persistent pain and complex musculoskeletal injuries, ergonomics, and providing functional and vocational rehabilitation programs.

  • Credentialed Therapist in Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy (McKenzie Institute)

  • MCEP (COMT) Upper and Lower Quartile (NZ Manipulative Physiotherapists Association)

  • Western Acupuncture and Dry Needling

 

Kelsy

Kelsy graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Winthrop University in South Carolina, USA. After graduation she then obtained an Associate’s degree in Orthopaedic technology and shortly after began working alongside Orthopaedic surgeons in Atlanta, Georgia where she provided casting, brace fitting and wound care for orthopaedic fractures and conditions.

 

In need of a change Kelsy moved to Sydney, Australia in 2015. She then graduated with a Doctor of Physiotherapy degree from Macquarie University in 2019. While studying Kelsy worked with several local sports teams (Rugby, Netball, Soccer, and Tennis) providing care as a Sport Trainer and then Sports Physiotherapist once she was qualified as a Physiotherapist. She has since worked in acute and rehabilitation private hospitals, aged care, and hand therapy.

 

Kelsy’s special interests include assessments and treatments for sports injuries, fractures, tendon related injuries, knee and hip pain.

• Bachelor of Applied Science in Athletic Training (Winthrop University)

• Associate Degree in Orthopaedic Technology (Southern Crescent Technical College)

• Doctor of Physiotherapy (Macquarie University)

• Parkinson’s Disease Warrior – Level 1 Course Completed

• Musculoskeletal Segmental Western Acupuncture and Dry Needling
